The government has apparently been wasting their time over the last few weeks debating whether to ban smoking in cars when children are around. They have been literally talking about how they can discourage parents from hotboxing their car with toxic fumes with their children present.

The negative effects that smoking has on your health is pretty much public knowledge, to the point that you'd have to be a hermit to not come across some form of 'Quit' advertising. Chances are, if you smoke (and there's nothing wrong with that...if you want to spend hundreds, maybe thousands, of pounds on a one-way trip to an early grave then that's your right) - if you smoke you'll probably come across across that one asshole who complains or comments on that 'cigarette' you have in your hand.
So to say you know nothing about the effects of smoking is a goddamn lie. Hell, they even say so on the packaging.
By this logic, anyone who smokes knows the effects it has on them and the effects it has on others.
So let's say you have one of the most responsible jobs in the world...let's say you're a parent.
You decide to take your kid to the beach or the zoo, after all it's a nice day outside.
You strap your kid in, get in the drivers seat and head off.
Halfway there, you get that urge. You could wait an extra 10min but to hell with it, after all you have to enjoy the little things in life.
You pull a cigarette out, light it and take in a deep breath.
This sound like you? Then you are a fucking retard.
Only the most selfish of people would put their own needs above the health and safety of their own children. But apparently there are people like this out there because the government has seen fit to waste tax-payer money on such a menial debate that could easily have been averted if people were not so fucking monsterous.

Thanks to you we now have a law that actually states the parents in the UK are too retarded to look after the well-being of their own children.
We actually had to physically declare it illegal to smoke in cars with children.
Because parents nowadays are to stupid to know how to actually care for their children.
